I Didn’t Get A Hogwarts Letter, But This Is A Pretty Good Substitute
The Hogwarts Express leaves Platform 9¾ without fail on 1 September at 11 o’clock in the morning.
I have officially missed the train this year.
I mean, I didn’t get my letter to begin with, but we all know that it’s only because my dog ate my letter and I had no way to contact the school to get a replacement. Muggle-born here.
But when I logged into WordPress a little while ago, my mourning of the missed train was brought to a standstill.
You see, the first thing I noticed was this notification.
What?!
I know I didn’t actually start blogging more actively until January of this year, when I was sick and out of school for a solid week and had way too much time on my hands, but I created this site a year ago as of today.
What?!!?!??!?!?!!?!??!!!????!!!!
Time, you are not allowed to fly this fast.
Seriously, this is just ridiculous.
A whole year?
It’s actually been a whole year since I found WordPress and decided to create a blog of my own?
Naturally, my first reaction was to mildly freak out because A) time is slipping as we speak and B) holy mother of all things fluffy, I’ve kept this up for a year!
No, Professor Snape, I can not control my emotions.
Frankly, I didn’t think I would consistently work on this site for two months.
I have all of you guys to thank for keeping me going, though. When I hit ten followers, I started getting excited about the idea that maybe my thoughts could matter to some people. Maybe they like reading my stories. It drove me to better my writing- and myself, too.
So, thank you. If you are reading these words right now, thank you. I write for myself, yes, but seeing other people show even the mildest of interest in what I write for myself brightens my day to no end.
Normally this is the time of year that I complain about my lack of magical powers. But this year, I’m okay with just being a regular teenage girl with her not-quite-regular blog on the Internet (which I don’t think I would be able to access at Hogwarts… I don’t think they have wi-fi there and that is a serious issue for me).
Well then, I guess all there is left to do is celebrate, am I right?
Thanks again, nerdlings, for all your amazing comments and support. You are fantabulous! 🙂
Yours magically,
Keep those blogs flowing!
